How to complete your postal vote

See the video below.

Voting in May – Central Voting Hub

As part of a government pilot, we are trialling a central voting hub for city council elections on 7 May 2026. You can choose to either vote at your allocated polling station, or at the central hub on polling day. Please visit our dedicated page to get more information about where the Voting Hub will be and why we are taking part in the trial.

Polling stations will be open from 7am – 10pm. The full list of polling stations and the Democracy Club Polling Station Finder will appear here closer to polling day.

If you’re worried about going to a polling station, or can’t get to one, you can now apply for a postal vote online or appoint a proxy online to vote on your behalf at your allocated polling station.

Electoral Commission Research

The Electoral Commission is interested in the voting experience of those that use the central voting hub and will be conducting research outside the hub. They will have ID and only approach voters after they have voted using electronic tablets to record any details they record.
