We currently take ceremony bookings up to two years in advance.

Once you have made your ceremony booking with your venue and registrars you will then need to make an appointment to give your legal notices of marriage or civil partnership.

  • you are free lawfully to marry or form a civil partnership;
  • you have all of the relevant original and valid documentation to hand in order to give notice.

If your ceremony cannot proceed due to outstanding legal paperwork, your fees would be non-refundable.

Please also be aware that a person under 18 years of age is not able to marry or enter into a civil partnership under any circumstances, including with parental or judicial consent.

Further information regarding things you need to consider before booking your marriage or civil partnership ceremony can be found in our "Thinking about getting married or forming a civil partnership?" leaflet and information about what will happen on the day of your ceremony, can be found in our marriage pack and civil partnership pack
