If you are moving home, you will need to tell the council at the address you’re leaving and register for the council at your new address.
Moving home can often be a difficult process when it should be an exciting time as you prepare to move into your new home. The fastest and most efficient way to tell us about your move is to use our online form.
Depending on the circumstances of your move you will need to select one of the following options within our Online Council Tax Service.
If you are already registered with us to pay Council Tax, you will need your Council Tax Account Number to complete the form.
If your move is not scheduled within the next 28 days, we are unable to process your application at this time. To avoid delays or system errors, please report your change of address closer to your actual tenancy start date, end date or date of completion.
Once you have completed your online application there is no need to contact us, we will contact you directly if we need more information. A new bill will be either sent to the new property address or contact address once the account is set up.
If you have already set up for paperless billing, you will be notified by email
If you’re moving inside of Milton Keynes:
If you’re moving outside of Milton Keynes
While registering your new address, do not forget to register for paperless billing. Once you have registered your new address, you will be sent an email asking you to log into your account to view your bill.
Once you are in your account, you will also be able to set up a Direct Debit. This is our preferred method of collection, but you will not be able to do this until a new bill has been sent to you.
Paying by Direct Debit helps us to keep costs down and protect the valuable services we provide. It is easy, safe and means you never miss a payment.
