Exempt building work certificate applications must be accompanied by a fee.

Payment

Please do not send payments to the Planning Department — Planning and Building Control are separate services.

To avoid delays/cancellation, payment must be made within 28 calendar days of submitting your application.

On application submission, clearly specify who will be making the payment. Once we receive all required documentation, we will review your submission, may request any additional information, calculate the fee, and send an acknowledgement email with payment instructions.

How to pay:

• Phone: Call us securely on 01908 252721 to make a payment.
• Payment link: To receive a secure payment link, please provide 1) the payer’s full name 2) the email address registered with Milton Keynes City Council.
• Other methods: Call 01908 252721 for guidance. Please note: We do not accept cash or cheques.

Your application becomes valid once all supporting information and the payment is received. Once valid, you’ll be able to book inspections.

If you have started work without a payment, please email us with:

1. Building Control your reference number or site location
2. The Start date
3. Details of work carried out.

Applications for work solely required for disabled persons

Building work providing access and/or facilities for person with disabilities to domestic dwellings are normally exempt from fees. To see if your project qualifies, please contact us.
