Milton Keynes City Council has launched two competitions over ten weeks from 19 May 2025 for Multi Academy Trusts to apply to become the provider of two new schools planned for Milton Keynes. Trusts are able to apply for one or both opportunities:
- A 3FE primary school at Whitehouse South in the Western Expansion Area
- An all through school at Elverby, Newport Pagnell in the area known as MK East
Both schools are being built to meet the needs of the new housing developments in these areas.

This is in accordance with Department for Education guidance ‘Establishing a new academy: The free school presumption route’. This competition is open nationally on the Department for Education website.
