Route 74 – Wolverton Road, Stony Stratford

Links Wolverton to Stony Stratford  

Connects existing Redways on London and Stratford Road 

Redway extends through Stony Stratford for people to walk and cycle. 

Improves crossing points giving priority to people on the Redway 

Option A:

5m segregated Redway, replaces footpaths on Stratford, Wolverton and London Road. 

Reduces carriageway to single, one way, on Wolverton and London Road.  

Parking provision provided one side of Wolverton Road and London Road in formal bays.

High Street – maintain 1 way road and footpaths and introduce 1.5 - 2m cycle lane in opposing direction, retain parking and loading bays on the High Street

Option B:

Existing Redway on Stratford Road refreshed / resurfaced and widened to 3m shared use  

New 3.5m shared use Redway along Wolverton Road and London Road allowing 0.5 width between housing boundaries. 

Removal of on street parking to retain dual lane road – parking spaces where space allows.

Route 75 – High Street and Queen Eleanor Street, Stony Stratford

Provides space for people to walk and cycle, enabling better access to local amenities. 

Connecting to the wider network in Milton Keynes and to Redways on Stratford Road and Wolverton Road 

Improves existing crossing points and provides new crossing points on Queen Eleanor Street. 

Reduce carriageway width on the High Street to 4.8m, to encourage low speeds on the road. 

Introduce formal parking bays along north kerb line on High Street. No parking permitted on southern kerb line 

Option A:

5m segregated Redway, provides separate space for people walking and cycling, replaces or upgrades existing footpath provision along the High Street and Queen Eleanor Street.
