The H10 Bletcham Way grid road extension is being constructed primarilyto facilitate major new housing developments in the South East Milton Keynes (SEMK) urban extension area, specifically the Church Farm site and the wider SEMK scheme but also to help cope with additional traffic volumes as the city expands.
Constructing a new section of grid road is an extensive £multi-million project which is why it will be done in phases and the main construction will be carried out following a full tender process through the Midlands Highways Alliance (MHA) to ensure the best value.
Planning permission for the extension was granted in June 2024, and funding was approved at the Cabinet meeting on 4 November after all technical design work was completed. The Major Projects and Development Team (Highways) is managing the project from design through to construction.
